Although begging is illegal it does not carry a jail sentence under the Vagrancy Act 1824. Many people begin to beg because they are not receiving benefits when they first start to sleep rough. There has long been a strong relationship between begging, substance misuse and poor physical and mental health. Beggars have generally experienced a disruptive family background, substance abuse, exclusion from the labour market and institutionalisation and often have an acute lack of self-esteem. Many beggars have at some time found themselves victims of violence and harassment from the public.

this article tell us about the family background factor,thats true. but i want to add and share from what i learned before.when we look from the aspect of psychological,it have one theory about a need,called Maslow Theory.this theory tell us about the people needs in life.it have five stage to complete our needs to achieve life statisfied.the first stage is physiology,mean basic needs like eat,sleep,clothes and others.what i'll try to relate this issue with the theory is people have a psysiology needs to fulfill desire,so that same with the children,they also need this matter to survive.thats shows its very important, so when thier needs not enough like food,money they will beg,the most happened for who poor and poverty.
they make their own life to live ..i think, if their family means their parent does not want their children always begging from the people for a bit food then they should change their own life,get job and money for their children.

this problem come from their own parent actually especially for those who unable to manage their life, means here the poor family. parent always take for granted and ignore their children to do something.there, no control wisely have taken, so that may be childs were go anywhere to beg to get the money or food.
so, parents must know where their child are,it important for them to be aware of their children's whereabouts at all time. right???
in malaysia, we have act where for parent who exploiting their children below 18 for begging purpose or other similar activities may be prosecuted in Child Act 2001
